The Structure of Matter is a foundational science course exploring the physical universe build. The
present document for the Structure of Matter module has been designed to meet the needs of first year
License students, particularly those pursuing a first degree in Science and Technology (L1). Its primary
focus is on providing comprehensive instruction in fundamental concepts of matter structure, a
captivating of general chemistry. The curriculum for Common Core in Science and Technology students
delineates this course into six distinct chapters and then focuses on the view of fundamental concepts,
principal components of matter, radioactivity, electronic structure of an atom, periodic classification of
the elements and chemical bonding.

Heat transfer is directly related to numerous problems in many engineering and
scientific applications. It is perhaps the most important, as well as the most applied
process, in refining, gas processing, and chemical and petrochemical plants.
This course on heat transfer is intended for second-year students in process
engineering, as well as anyone who needs to acquire a foundation in this discipline. It
conforms to the official curriculum issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and
Scientific Research. Through the various chapters, the reader will be introduced to the
modes of heat transfer. They will thus be able to identify the mechanisms and calculate
the quantities of thermal energy that migrate from one medium to another.

KOUADRI, Amar
The master's program in mechanical engineering, as in any other discipline, concludes with the
preparation and defense of a final cycle project. This final step before obtaining one's degree is of great
importance in a student's education. It represents a particularly intense period in terms of workload as
well as stress for those preparing their dissertation. The public defense is also a source of apprehension
and anxiety for most students. It is therefore very important to be able to prepare one's dissertation
methodically in order to succeed during this important period of student life.
This course is addressed to Master's 2 students in mechanical engineering, in the energetics
option, who are about to prepare their final cycle project. Indeed, all Master's 2 students are concerned
and need to acquire a good methodology to properly prepare their final projects.
The content of this course conforms to the official program issued by the Ministry of Higher Education
and Scientific Research. Throughout the various chapters, the reader will be introduced to
documentary research and will learn the steps, methodology, and techniques for writing and presenting
a dissertation.
In summary, this course is designed to help students prepare their dissertations from start to
defense and to guide them in adopting the appropriate approach.
It is worth noting that this course is also of great use to recent graduates entering professional life, as
they will often be called upon to prepare projects and present them effectively, communicating in the
best possible way in the workplace.

KOUADRI, Amar
Avant-propos
