However, thistechnologicalbreakthrough has createdcomplexlegalproblems for the patent system, especiallywith regard to the possibility of patenting inventions completed by artificial intelligence, the extent to whichthese innovations complywithtraditionalcriteria for grantinglegal protection, such as the requirement of innovativeactivity, as well as whetherartificial intelligence canbeconsidered an "inventor" in the legalsense.
