Abstract

This study includes previous studies at the beginning of the memorandum and presents them as a preliminary model, to determine what distinguishes it and what makes it inspiring or interesting. Clarifying the cultural values and intellectual visions conveyed by the “Box of Ideas - Larbi Ben Mahidi” program and their role in shaping the conscience of viewers and directing them towards critical and analytical thinking. Highlighting community participation in producing the cultural content of the program and its impact on promoting cultural integration and enhancing cultural interaction in Arab society. Through these points, additional information and detailed analyzes will be added to comprehensively understand the program and provide informed recommendations to enhance its role in promoting culture in Arab society.

The memorandum also addresses a study on cultural documentary programs and their role in shaping cultural awareness, by dividing it into three main sections. 1/ Chapter One: The theoretical framework on cultural programs. This chapter deals with the definition of cultural programs, their importance in society, and their impact on shaping cultural awareness. The current literature and theories related to this topic are also reviewed, and current documentaries and trends are evaluated. 2/ Chapter Two: The Cultural Context in the Arab World. This chapter focuses on developments in Arab identity and the impact of cultural transformations on it, in addition to the importance of the cultural context and its role in determining the context and its impact on viewers’ choice of cultural programs. 3/ Chapter Three: The role of Al Jazeera’s documentary programs in promoting culture. In this chapter, the history and vision of the Al Jazeera Documentary Channel is reviewed, and the program – the Fund of Ideas – presented by the channel is analyzed, in addition to evaluating its impact and the public’s response to it, and considering future developments and potential challenges. In general, the memorandum aims to deeply understand the role of cultural programmes, especially Al Jazeera’s documentary programmes, in shaping cultural awareness and promoting culture in Arab society. The memorandum concludes with an analysis of the role of Al Jazeera’s documentary programs in promoting Arab culture, focusing on its history and vision, and providing forecasts and analysis of future developments in this field
