This paper examines the development of the Tunisian national movement between 1919 and 1939, a pivotal period that witnessed the emergence of political awareness in the face of French colonialism. This period saw the emergence of national parties such as the Tunisian Free Constitutional Party, and the development of political discourse with the emergence of the new Free Constitutional Party.
The study also focuses on the role of the Algerian elite in supporting Tunisian political life through intellectual influence and joint activities in the fields of journalism, education, and union work. The paper highlights the deep ties between the national movements in Tunisia and Algeria, reflecting the beginnings of the formation of a shared Maghrebi awareness against colonialism.

Ce mémorandum examine l’évolution du mouvement national tunisien entre 1919 et 1939, période charnière qui voit l’émergence d’une conscience politique face au colonialisme français. Cela a été réalisé grâce à l’émergence de partis nationalistes tels que le Parti constitutionnel libre tunisien, et au développement du discours politique avec l’émergence du nouveau Parti constitutionnel libre.
L’étude se concentre également sur le rôle de l’élite algérienne dans le soutien à la vie politique tunisienne, à travers l’influence intellectuelle et l’activité conjointe dans les domaines du journalisme, de l’éducation et du travail syndical. Le mémorandum souligne les liens profonds entre les mouvements nationaux en Tunisie et en Algérie, reflétant les débuts de la formation d’une conscience maghrébine commune contre le colonialisme.
