The aim of the study is to assess the extent to which Korean drama affects the intellectual, social, and behavioral values of Arab youth, analyze the degree of alignment between these values and the prevailing value systems in Arab societies, and explore the motivations behind young people's interest in this genre of drama. The study adopts a descriptive-analytical methodology, using a questionnaire as the primary data collection tool. A purposive sample of 100 male and female students from the Department of Media and Communication at Ziane Achour University of Djelfa, aged between 18 and 25 years, was selected. Key Findings of the Study: Data shows that a significant portion of young people—particularly females—regularly watch Korean dramas. The main motivations for viewing include entertainment, skilled acting, and high production quality. Despite a general appreciation of the artistic content, many students expressed that the values portrayed do not align with their local cultural and religious norms. Most participants do not believe that Korean dramas promote positive behaviors or enhance social relationships, although some acknowledged a limited role in raising social awareness. Korean dramas offer appealing content but often fail to reflect Arab realities or reinforce authentic values. The study concludes with a recommendation to enhance critical awareness among youth in their consumption of foreign media content and to encourage the production of Arab drama capable of addressing societal issues and reinforcing the local value system.
