Abstract:
This lecture notes constitutes the official support of the module Reinforced Concrete
Construction Project, taught within the Department of Civil Engineering at Ziane Achour
University of Djelfa. Designed in a didactic spirit and structured in accordance with the
harmonized national curriculum, it aims to guide engineering and master’s students in
progressively acquiring the skills required for the design and analysis of reinforced concrete
structures.
The document presents, in a clear and methodical manner, the fundamental principles of
structural design, the assumptions underlying reinforced concrete calculations, as well as the
verification methods at limit states, in compliance with the Documents Techniques
Réglementaires (DTR) and the Algerian Seismic Code (RPA 2024). Particular emphasis is
placed on the requirements of safety, durability, and material economy, which constitute the
foundation of modern and responsible engineering.
Primarily intended for students, this course offers them a pedagogical reference tool to
strengthen their theoretical knowledge and to develop their practical skills, especially in the
context of graduation projects. It may also serve as a useful reference for lecturers, as well
as a practical guide for engineers and professionals working in the construction sector.
By encouraging students to read carefully and use this material regularly, the author hopes to
contribute to the training of competent engineers, capable of addressing the current and
future challenges of earthquake engineering and reinforced concrete.
