Abstract:
تتناول المطبوعة تاريخ العلاقات بين الغرب الاسلامي و العالم المسيحي و تاريخ غرب البحر الأبيض المتوسط في العصور الوسطى باعتباره مجالاً لتفاعلات معقدة بين المسلمين في الأندلس وشمال إفريقيا والممالك المسيحية في جنوب أوروبا. لم تقتصر هذه العلاقات على الصراع، بل شملت التعاون الدبلوماسي والتجاري والتبادل الثقافي والعلمي.
شهدت شبه الجزيرة الإيبيرية تداخلاً حضارياً واضحاً منذ قيام الدولة الأموية في الأندلس إلى سقوط غرناطة سنة 1492، حيث تفاعلت الأنظمة السياسية والاقتصادية بين المسلمين والمسيحيين. كما لعبت دول المغرب الإسلامي مثل المرابطين والموحدين دوراً مهماً في ربط ضفتي المتوسط.
ساهمت التجارة في تعزيز التواصل رغم الاختلافات الدينية، وتحولت مدن مثل غرناطة وتونس إلى مراكز للتبادل الثقافي والاقتصادي. كما انتقلت المعارف العلمية والفنية إلى أوروبا، مما أثر في تطورها الحضاري.
رغم الحروب مثل حروب الاسترداد، استمرت أشكال من التعايش بين المسلمين والمسيحيين واليهود ضمن أنظمة اجتماعية متنوعة. وقد ترك الوجود الإسلامي آثاراً دائمة في أوروبا حتى بعد تراجعه السياسي.
ويؤكد النص على أهمية دراسة هذه المرحلة بشكل شامل يجمع بين الجوانب السياسية والاقتصادية والثقافية، لفهم تعقيد العلاقات التاريخية وتجاوز النظرة الثنائية بين الشرق والغرب.

These relations went beyond conflict to include diplomacy, trade, cultural exchange, and intellectual cooperation.
From the rise of the Umayyad emirate in al-Andalus to the fall of Granada in 1492, Iberia was a key zone of cross-cultural contact, where Muslim and Christian systems influenced one another. North African dynasties also played a crucial role in connecting regions across the Mediterranean.
Trade networks helped bridge religious and political differences, while cities like Granada and Tunis became centers of economic and cultural exchange. Knowledge in science, philosophy, and art was transmitted to Europe, contributing to its development.
Despite military conflicts such as the Reconquista, coexistence between Muslims, Christians, and Jews persisted in various forms. The legacy of Muslim presence remained influential in Europe even after political decline.
