الملخص
بوصول الجنرال ديغول إلى الحكم بعد انقلاب 13 ماي 1958 اعتقد انصار الجزائر فرنسية أنهم حققوا حلمهم في الحفاظ على الجزائر ومصالحهم فيها لكن نجاح الثورة وانتصارها سياسيا وعسكريا، وداخليا وخارجيا أفشلت مخططات ديغول ما جعله ينتهج الحل السلمي من خلال التخلي عن فكرة الجزائر فرنسية، فطرح مبدأ تقرير المصير 16 سبتمبر 1959 الذي أثار المستوطنين فكان أول تمرد علني في جانفي 1960 ضد سلطة باريس، تلتها مظاهرات ديسمبر 1960 التي خرج فيها أوروبيوالجزائر ثم التحق الجزائريون للمناداة باستقلال الجزائر، فأكدت هذه الأحداث أن مصلحة فرنسا تكمن في انهاء هذا النزاع الذي هدد وحدتها القومية والسبيل الوحيد لذلك هوالتفاوض مع جبهة التحرير الوطني. الشيء الذي رفضه المستوطنون وقادة الجيش في الجزائر وتجلى ذلك من خلال انقلاب 22 أفريل 1961 بقيادة الجنرالات الأربعة شال، صالان، جوهودوزيلر الذي انتهى بالفشل بعد أربعة أيام وميلاد منظمة الجيش السري التي فشلت كل محاولاتها لعرقلة سير المفاوضات

Abstract
Following General Charles de Gaulle’s rise to power after the coup of May 13, 1958, advocates of 'French Algeria' believed they had realized their dream of preserving Algeria and safeguarding their interests. However, the political and military triumphs of the Algerian Revolution, both internally and externally, thwarted de Gaulle’s plans. This compelled him to pursue a peaceful resolution by abandoning the notion of 'French Algeria' and proposing the principle of self-determination on September 16, 1959.
This decision provoked the settlers, triggering the first open rebellion against Paris in January 1960. This was followed by the demonstrations of December 1960, in which European settlers initially took to the streets, only for Algerians to join them to demand Algerian independence. These events underscored that France’s best interest lay in ending a conflict that threatened its national unity, and that the only viable path was to negotiate with the FLN. This approach was rejected by the settlers and military leaders in Algeria, culminating in the failed coup of April 22, 1961, led by the four generals: Maurice Challe, Raoul Salan, Edmond Jouhaud, and André Zeller. Despite its collapse after four days, it led to the birth of the OAS (Secret Army Organization), whose subsequent attempts to obstruct the negotiations ultimately failed.
