Abstract:
هدفت السياسة الاستعمارية الفرنسية للقضاء على المقومات الثقافية للمجتمع الجزائري، واستبدالها تدريجيا بثقافة هجينة، بإعطائه فتات الحضارة الفرنسية مع تذكيره دائما بكونه أدنى منزلة من الفرنسيين. ولتحقيق ذلك قضى الاستعمار الفرنسي على المؤسسات الدينية، وألغى النظام التعليمي للجزائريين واستبدلته بنظام تعليم فرنسي، كما شن حملة تنصيرية، أراد من خلالها القضاء على الإسلام واللغة العربية.
وبتطور الوعي الثقافي للجزائريين منذ بدايات القرن العشرين، بادرت الأحزاب والجمعيات الوطنية المختلفة إلى إنشاء المدارس الحرة، وعملت على إصلاح التعليم العربي الإسلامي فيها. فاستحدثت المقررات والبرامج، وطورت أساليب التربية والتعليم إلى غير ذلك من الإجراءات. ولم تغفل المدارس الحرة عن الغرض الأساسي الذي أنشئت لأجله، وهو مقاومة السياسة الثقافية الاستعمارية، حيث عملت من خلال برامجها ونشاطاتها على الحفاظ على الدين الإسلامي واللغة العربية وبث روح الوطنية في نفوس تلاميذها. .
The French colonial policy aimed to eliminate the cultural components of Algerian society, and gradually replace it with a hybrid culture. To achieve this, French colonialism eliminated religious institutions, abolished the educational system of Algerians and replaced it with a French education system, and launched a missionary campaign, through which he wanted to eliminate Islam and the Arabic language.
With the development of the cultural awareness of Algerians since the beginning of the twentieth century, the various national parties and associations initiated the establishment of free schools, and worked to reform the Arab-Islamic education in them. It created programs, and developed methods of education and other procedures. The free schools did not neglect the main purpose for which they were established, which is to resist the colonial cultural policy, as they worked through their programs and activities to preserve the Islamic religion and the Arabic language and to revive patriotism in their students.

La politique coloniale française visait à éliminer les fondements culturels de la société algérienne, et à la remplacer progressivement par une culture hybride. Pour y parvenir, le colonialisme français a détruit les institutions religieuses, aboli le système éducatif des Algériens et l'a remplacé par un système éducatif français, il a également lancé une campagne missionnaire par laquelle il voulait éliminer l'islam et la langue arabe.
Avec le développement de la conscience culturelle des Algériens depuis le début du XXe siècle, divers partis et associations nationales ont pris l'initiative de créer des écoles libres et ont œuvré pour y réformer l'enseignement arabo-islamique. Ainsi, des cours et des programmes ont été créés, et des méthodes d'éducation et d'enseignement ont été développées, en plus d'autres procédures. Les écoles libres n'ont pas perdu de vue le but principal pour lequel elles ont été créées, qui est de résister à la politique culturelle coloniale, car elles ont travaillé à travers leurs programmes et activités pour préserver la religion islamique et la langue arabe et répandre l'esprit de patriotisme dans le cœur de ses élèves.
